The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanic.  This position is responsible for analyzing mechanical problems and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on county vehicles, heavy and light construction equipment, and on various other equipment.   Major duties include but are not limited to tune-ups, various degrees of engine repair and vehicle maintenance, changing tires, field repairs on vehicles and equipment and the greasing of all equipment on a daily basis.  

Applicant must have a minimum of at least 5 years mechanical experience. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia CDL or be able to obtain a CDL and acquire a hazardous material license within 3 months of hire date.    Starting salary is $11.62 per hour.  Deadline for applications is August 1, 2014.  Applications will be accepted at Monroe County Commission Office, 38 West Main Street, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screening.
