Monroe County Emergency Services

 

Monroe County Emergency Services is accepting applications for a Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.  Must have possession of the appropriate state emergency medical service certification as set forth by the Department of Human Resources and Composite State Board of Medical Examiners as well as the ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighters Stan­dards and Training Act.

  Hours are 24hrs. on shift and 48 hrs. off shift.  Applicant must provide copies of certifications (most current state Paramedic certification), transcripts, valid Georgia driverís license, copy of birth certificate, copy of Social Security card, and pass a background check.  Starting salary is $11.79 per hour.   Applications can be picked up at the Monroe County Board of Commissioners Office on the 3rd floor, 38 West Main Street, Forsyth, Georgia 31029 from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday thru Friday.   Monroe County is Drug Free Workplace and an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Library Branch Manager

 

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Library Branch Manager.  This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library which consists of supervising and evaluating job performance of library staff, developing budgets and reports for the Monroe County Commission. Also, implements technology updates such as computers, electronic files, etc., maintains accurate records/statistics, making periodic reports to local library board and regional library, maintains up-to-date book collection, and attends all library board meetings, reporting on operation. The candidate must have knowledge of the common practices and procedures of a library, of library administration, and of the regional library system.  The candidate must also possess the ability to plan and organize, communicate effectively, using both oral and written communications, delegate authority and responsibility, work well with both data/statistics and people. The candidate should have sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position usually associated with the completion of baccalaureate in Library Administration or related field supplemented by three years of library experience.  Salary is commensurate with experience. This position involves properly recording, keying and filing paperwork, receipting, balancing, posting, and depositing monies as well as general clerical work. Laborer

FULL-TIME POSITION

MECHANIC

 

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanic.  This position is responsible for analyzing mechanical problems and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on county vehicles, heavy and light construction equipment, and on various other equipment.   Major duties include but are not limited to tune-ups, various degrees of engine repair and vehicle maintenance, changing tires, field repairs on vehicles and equipment and the greasing of all equipment on a daily basis.  

Applicant must have a minimum of at least 3 years mechanical experience. Applicant must possess a valid Georgia CDL or be able to obtain a CDL and acquire a hazardous material license within 3 months of hire date.    Starting salary is $11.62 per hour.  Deadline for applications is February 11, 2014.  Applications will be accepted at Monroe County Commission Office, 38 West Main Street, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screening.
