Monroe County Emergency Services

 

Monroe County Emergency Services is accepting applications for a Full-Time Firefighter/Paramedic.  Must have possession of the appropriate state emergency medical service certification as set forth by the Department of Human Resources and Composite State Board of Medical Examiners as well as the ability to meet current requirements set forth by the National Fire Protection Association and the Georgia Firefighters Stan­dards and Training Act.

Family Connections Program Assistant

Monroe County Family Connection seeks a part-time program assistant.  The successful candidate will have excellent written and verbal communication skills and possess strong people skills.  Experience working in the community is desired.  Proficiency is needed in Microsoft Word, Outlook and other standard software applications.  Excellent organizational skills are also needed.  The ability to take direction and work independently with minimum supervision is required.  $16 per hour, 20 hours per week, with flexible schedule.  Bachelorís degree preferred, but combination of education and experience will be considered.  Some travel to Bibb County required.

Information Technology Specialist

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for a Full-Time Information Technology Specialist.  This position is responsible for meeting the daily information technology requirements of Monroe County in the areas of network administration and general systems maintenance.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are representative of the work required for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

 

         Directly assists County staff with the overall maintenance and technical administration of the network used by Monroe County

         Maintains all County Department automated information systems including, but not limited to, the AS/400 mainframe, GIS, personal computers, workstations, networks and peripheral equipment; monitors system operations; establishes user access levels; and maintains system security. 

         Maintains employee user accounts on the network to include the setup and operation of email, web, timesheet, and personal information management software used by employees.

         Maintains the Monroe County ftp site for incoming/outgoing external data transmission to and from the Internet

         Assists with the installation and maintenance of all computer hardware and software used by Monroe County and reviews all voucher requests for new hardware/software to confirm the validity and/or need of each request.

         Assists all Monroe County employees with the troubleshooting and diagnosis of all hardware/software problems.

 

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a Bachelorís Degree in Information Technology or related field and 2-5 year experience in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires advanced computer application skills.

MECHANIC

 

The Monroe County Board of Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for a Mechanic.  This position is responsible for analyzing mechanical problems and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on county vehicles, heavy and light construction equipment, and on various other equipment.  

Applicant must have a minimum of at least 3 yearsí experience, possess a valid Georgia CDL or be able to obtain a CDL and acquire a hazardous material license within 3 months of hire date.    Starting salary is $11.62 per hour.  Deadline for applications is December 5, 2014.  Applications will be accepted at Monroe County Commission Office, 38 West Main Street, between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  Applicants will be subject to a background check and drug screening.
